Anne-Madeleine Goulet is a researcher at the CNRS (Center d’études supérieures de la Renaissance in Tours). Her doctorate in performing arts was devoted to the study of poetry and music in France in the 17th century. From 2010 to 2012 she co-directed the ‘Musici’ ANR-DFG research programme at the École Francaise de Rome, in collaboration with the German Historical Institute (http://www.musici.eu).

Currently her work is focused on theatre, music and dance in Parisian and Roman aristocratic circles in the 17th century (cultural exchange, history of taste and sociability). She is currently compiling a work devoted to the relationship between the court of Versailles and the city of Rome through a case study, namely that the de la Trémoille sisters.

From 1st September 2016 she has been the principal investigator of the PerformArt project (CoG No.681415 of the European Research Council). She coordinates the “Musique et littérature” collections for Classiques Garnier editions.
