From 30th June to 2nd July 2017, an International Conference organised by Divino Sospiro/Centro de Estudos Musicais setecentistas de Portugal on “Theatrical space for music in the Eighteenth Century” was held at the Palácio Nacional de Queluz (Portugal). The aim of the organisers is to develop a multidisciplinary dialogue on the specificity and diversity of spaces destined for theatrical productions in Europe throughout the eighteenth century. On 1st July 2017, Élodie Oriol gave a talk entitled “Music theatres, from the palace to the city: aristocratic patronage and its influence within the urban space of Rome”.
