Orsetta Baroncelli

Orsetta Baroncelli is an archivist and documentalist, specialized on the archives of Roman aristocratic families.

In 2005 she graduated cum laude at the University of “Roma Tre” in humanities with a specialization in art history with a thesis degree on the frescoes preserved in Santa Croce church in Genazzano (RM) under the supervision of Professor Emeritus Bruno Toscano.

From 2007 to 2009, she attended the School of Archival Sciences, Palaeography and Diplomatics of the State Archives in Rome.

In 2009, she obtained the the diploma in archivist.

In 2009, she worked on compiling the inventory of the Giustiniani family in Rome, preserved in the State Archives of Rome.

In 2010, thanks to this project, she was included in the short-list of indipendent experts to be recruited within the activities of the Archive General Office for the implementation of the National Archival System (SAN) and related information systems.

In 2011, during the internship at the Archive Section of the Vatican Apostolic Library, she took part in the compiling of the inventory of the Barberini family archive, in particular in the Abbeys section.

From 2011, initially under a contract from the CNRS and later from the EFR, she has collaborated with Anne-Madeleine Goulet as documentalist in the archives of the Orsini of Bracciano and Lante della Rovere families.
